Irenes Florist

Looking for stunning flowers for your wedding day, the team at Irenes has you sorted!!

Recently relocated to a shiny new premises, I spoke to the wonderful women at Irenes florist about all things wedding. Irenes is the go to florist in the area, and so coming from Stenhousemuir myself, I was keen to get to know how they built their business to the impressive brand it is now - as well as hoping to get a taster for my couples on what it looks like to get your wedding kitted out with beautiful bouquets and décor from Irenes! I was lucky enough to be invited to spend some of the afternoon in their new location, chatting to the team, taking photographs, and getting the lowdown on some of the most FAQ's for my Bride and Groom's!

Plus, its almost February 14th, so I got to check out all the Valentines loveliness in store too!

Irene's was kitted out for Valentines. I was feeling the love!

About Irenes Florist

Irenes Florist was established in 1978. Naturally with being around a while, they are well known and loved and have a huge customer base as well as a great reputation. You might not see Irene when you do your wedding consultation or pop in to order flowers, but you might chat with her daughter Aimee, who holds the fort and works the family business. The whole team consists of six lovely ladies. Aimee being one alongside Sarah, Lynda, Sam, Eileen and Claire - who all work with her to create all the incredible works of art which leave the store on a daily basis.

(40 deliveries on average per day in fact! )

The New Location

Previously based from two locations, Falkirk and Stenhousemuir, Irenes has now moved to a singular, larger unit. And I must say, it is impressive.

Opened in Novermber 2021, they are now solely based on King Street, Stenhousemuir (a few doors along from their old premises) They have decorated their new shop fantastically. It is adorned with blossom trees, modern LED signs, wedding décor and of course, flowers. They have a cosy wedding consultation area and a huge open workbench area where you can watch them work their magic on your bouquet's and buttonholes alike from the shop floor.

I asked the ladies in Irenes for some info about what to expect when you work with them for your big day...

  • How many weddings on average would you say you do per year?
"We have done more this year due to covid and with lots of couples having had their weddings pushed back, but on an average year, anywhere from 150 - 200 weddings." (WOW)

  • How would a bride/groom go about ordering their wedding flowers or décor from you?
"We would set up an appointment and have a consultation firstly. A couple could do this anywhere from 2 years in advance, we recommend around 9 months before the big day, or at least when they have an idea of the colours in their wedding. During the consultation we discuss full needs. There's so much we can help with for weddings so there is often a lot for a bride or groom to think about. A couple could change their mind up to 4 weeks before their wedding and we would accommodate. "

  • What can you provide for a couples wedding?
"We do all your traditional floristry like bouquets and button holes, table centrepieces, top table flower arrangements and church flowers. However we also have a number of rental items for hire too. All the blossom trees you see in store can be rented, as well as the blossom arch (FYI for the readers, ITS HUGE AND STUNNING) We do candelabras, mirrored centrepieces, all sorts to complete the look."

  • Do you require a deposit?
We ask for a £50 deposit to secure the booking, However we have agreements with some local venues which means flowers are included within a couples wedding package with them, and in this case they pay a lower deposit.

  • Can you give an example of the packages for us?
"Of course, although the packages vary with every venue. So for example, some couples might have their top table decorations included through us in the price of their venue package. Some packages will include bridesmaids bouquets and buttonholes, it really all depends on the venues we work alongside. If a bride or groom has picked a package with a venue which includes some of our services, they just need to get in touch with us if they would like anything additional from us and they simply pay the difference"

  • Do you cater for any other events & when is the busiest time of year for you?
"Christmas is our busiest time of year, and that surprises everyone. Valentines is actually not as busy as you might think. We cater for all types of events, anything you might want flowers for. Of course we can do birthday parties, corporate events and baby showers, but as well as that we cater to funerals and memorials services too"

  • How do customers get in contact with you?
"Customers can call us on 01324563323, visit our website (linked below) , or our Facebook or Instagram pages. Or, of course, pop in and see us in our lovely new shop at 33 King Street, Stenhousemuir"
