The Boathouse at Paxton House - a gorgeous venue on the banks of the River Tweed surrounded by lush greenery, perfect for every wee ceremony and celebrating all the love.
Tell me what's more beautiful than two people celebrating their love with nothing but a small group of their nearest and dearest, and if you drum anything up I'll say your telling porkies. This truly is one of my favourite types of wedding day and there is nothing more beautiful, I swear.
On this particular day, it was Summer & Tom's turn to bask in their loved up glory with their gorgeous wee boy. I was there on my 'The Memories' package , meaning just a wee 3 hour day for me, but it was more than enough time to capture all the beauty of the day!
More on the venue later (another blog to come) - however, to sum it up - the Boathouse is located at Paxton House right on the Scottish Borders and it is STUNNING . Paxton House has a couple of different options for those who want either a smaller more intimate venue located right on the River Tweed, or a day packed with everyone (and their dogs! Probably, I'm not actually sure if dogs are allowed so don't quote me on that) The events side of the business is ran by the wonderful Mel, who I've had the pleasure of working with on both some of the larger ceremonies as well as two down at the Boathouse. She is such a great person to work with and puts her all into making sure the day runs smooth. Look out for more info on Paxton in a future blog!
A gorgeous intimate wedding. Summer and Tom were joined by their guests to celebrate their love together, and I had the absolute joy of capturing all the memories of the day.
When I arrived the weather was gorgeous, we absolutely lucked out for an outdoor-ish wedding! I started off by grabbing some shots of Tom and his groomsman waiting for the beautiful bride to arrive, as well as capturing a couple pictures of their wee one and all their stunning details - how beaut are the colours!
Summer arrived with her dad (looking UNREAL in her dress) and after an emotional first look with Tom, their celebrant Milqueya got right down to business. She married them with a gorgeous personalised ceremony, unique to them. They then gave their friends and family a wee surprise and proceeded with a naming ceremony for little Tom, who looked absolutely adorable in his suit.
(Milqueya has her very own blog if you want more info on her as a Celebrant)
Once they officially became man and wife (yey), we lined up the guests for a confetti shot and then rounded everyone up for some group shots. The Boathouse is the perfect setting for pictures! I took Summer and Tom for a wander along the water so they could catch a breath and enjoy some of their just married bubble and we spent some time grabbing some super romantic pictures of them. Their guests headed off to the wedding breakfast and we wandered along the river and basked in the gorgeous sunshine!
We took full advantage of the fact we had the lush surroundings to ourselves before Summer & Tom drove off to join thier guests and spend the rest of their day celebrating!
A gorgeous gorgeous day at one of my absolute favourite places for a smaller wedding!
